Dr. Shankara Murthy, M., is currently working as an Assistant Professor of Agricultural Entomology at the College of Agriculture, Bheemarayanagudi, University of Agricultural Sciences, Raichur, Karnataka, India.
He obtained his Ph.D. in Agricultural Entomology at the University of Agricultural Sciences, Bengaluru, India.
He is teaching undergraduate courses at the College of Agriculture, Bheemarayanagudi and Postgraduate course ‘Classification of insects’ at Main campus.
He has guided various Postgraduate students on ‘Taxonomy of Pyraloidea (Lepidoptera). He was awarded DST-SERB Young Scientist Project on ‘Taxonomy, distribution, and diversity of agriculturally important fauna of Pyraloidea associated with cereals in south India’ during 2014-2017. He has published research papers in ‘International and National journals.
